September Construction Update

September marked the start of football season and some incredible progress on the new Nissan Stadium! The major structural steel erection is now 80% complete—that’s 9,870 out of 12,400 pieces in place—with the very first field-level steel rakers now installed in the west Touchdown Suite area. Things are shaping up quickly!
Our precast concrete stadia, which shapes the seating bowl, has reached nearly 70% completion. Nearly 1,693 of the 2,461 pieces are set. The pieces are being fabricated off-site in a factory in Georgia, and they’re about 95% of the way there in completing the full set.
The compression ring beams, which set the stage for our ETFE roof structure, are halfway there, with 25 out of 50 set, and more on the way. Non-ETFE roofing work is moving forward as well, with the first pieces received and going up on the West side of the stadium.
As you’ll notice coming to Titans games this season, exterior curtainwall glazing (windows!) is progressing smoothly on the North and West facades, with over 290 building panels installed (that’s a quarter of the way done already!). Our team is also hard at work on the Aluminum Composite Material (ACM) metal panels, with over 600 panels installed across the West, South, and North facades.
Inside the building, things are just as busy. Three of the six inner bowl concrete slab placements are complete, and elevator installation is progressing steadily. Plus, all but one of the 44 escalators are in place and being tested! Interior work continues, with doors, frames, hardware, and drywall installations ongoing on the Event Level and in key electrical openings.
Other highlights include the installation of the exterior video board from Daktronics on the South Plaza. This video board welcomes guests as they come into the building, and will also be a great place for movies in the park in the future. We’re also working on ongoing HVAC unit placement, and the start of exterior framing and sheathing on the North facade of the stadium.
Another great month of progress in the books! We can’t wait to see what Fall brings us.
