Latest Progress Update: Things are Moving Fast!
April has been a whirlwind of activity on the stadium site! There are now over 1,000 workers hustling daily across every level and quadrant of the building—talk about a full house. We’ve already logged over 1.5 million labor hours, and the progress is seriously showing.
One of the biggest milestones this month? We poured the last suspended concrete deck on the upper concourse—concrete work is winding down, and structural steel is ramping up in a big way. The roof structure is climbing higher every day, and with two massive MLC650 cranes now on site (each capable of lifting a whopping 700 tons), we’re making serious headway. So far, 3,000 out of 25,000 steel pieces are in place for the roof.
At night, the action doesn’t stop. We’ve been setting precast sections round the clock, and the seating bowl is coming alive on all three major levels. We’ve installed about 18% of the precast—430 out of 2,400 pieces—and it’s starting to look like a real stadium!
Meanwhile, the field-level slab is over 60% poured, and inside the building, things are really taking shape. We’ve already installed 16 of the 44 planned escalators, and the first precast stairs are going in. On the interior side, there’s a flurry of wall framing going on using both concrete masonry units (CMUs) and metal studs across multiple levels. Roughly 20% of the CMU walls are up, and the MEP systems (that’s mechanical, electrical, and plumbing) are being hung from the ceilings to prep for enclosure.
