Construction Update: October Edition
October was an extremely productive month for new Nissan Stadium construction! We poured the first elevated concrete decks in September, and that work continued into October. Four giant cranes are on site, each working in different quadrants, and they’ll connect this month for the first time. These are building blocks for our main concourses which will provide fans 360 access on all levels, a huge difference from where we are today. The concourses are also wider and designed for efficiency with frictionless markets and nearly 2x bathrooms – fans will have more time to watch the game and less time in lines.
What to Look for at the New Nissan Stadium
Next time you drive by the new Nissan Stadium or come to a Titans game, keep an eye out for some cool features. First off, check out the MNPS student artwork on the fence lining the East side of the current stadium.
From a bird’s eye view, you can start to see the shape of the field coming together now and the first glimpse of what will become our seating bowl. The structure you can see currently is a frame, and the full seating bowl is being poured as we speak in a factory in Atlanta. Once we have those pieces transferred in February, we will start to install actual seats. Every seat in the new stadium – no matter where it is – will have padding. Every seat will also be closer to the action on the field. Our seats will be the closest to the field than any other NFL stadium!
On-Schedule and Full Steam Ahead
Everyone’s been asking, “Is construction on schedule?” The answer is a resounding yes! Our crew has been working incredibly hard to stay on track. We’ve been lucky with the weather, too – no delays so far. As winter approaches, construction will only ramp up. We’re seeing about 25 to 30 additional workers join the job site each week, with about 650 workers onsite already and heading towards a peak labor force of 1,600.
What’s Next?
The next big milestone? Completing the concrete superstructure by February 2025. After that, we’ll move on to erecting the steel superstructure from the upper concourse to the roof. This will also kick off the installation of the precast seating bowl, which includes about 2,000 pieces of precast to be set.
