Project Progress Update
Significant advancements have been achieved across various aspects of the project last month, showcasing steady progress as we watch the stadium come to life.
Structural Work
The cooling tower well has reached a major milestone with the completion of its cast-in-place walls, paving the way for waterproofing and backfill activities to commence. Similarly, the Southeast cistern walls are now complete! The new Nissan Stadium will have two large cisterns that can store 400,000 gallons of water between the two of them, and they’ll play a huge role in our sustainability efforts as we look to efficiently reuse water.
Speaking of completing projects…all of our foundation work is now fully complete! Progress on the concrete columns has been robust, with continued work on the Field, Plaza, 100, Suite, Stair Core, and 200 Levels, ensuring the structural framework remains on schedule. Additionally, elevated concrete decks on the West, North, South East sides are advancing steadily, with construction now underway across multiple levels of the stadium. We almost have a full 360 degree connection on our Plaza Level!
Ongoing & Upcoming Activities
Framing, forming, and reinforcing for planned concrete pours are progressing seamlessly, with multiple pours completed in December. Meanwhile, underground Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing systems continue to take shape, with electrical installations moving forward in the North, South, and East quadrants, while plumbing efforts are ongoing in the West, East, and North quadrants.
Added activities have now kicked off to ramp up the interior rough-in and build out of the stadium while the structure moves vertically. Interior wall layout and with the starting top track for stud walls have started to get laid out on the Field Level. This also includes the start of the first lifts of Masonry walls being installed as well on the Field Level that will form many of the walls on the stair and elevator cores.
Key infrastructure installations, including storm, sewer, and water systems, are actively progressing on the North and South sides of the project. Also, the forming of the Terrace Level deck has commenced in the West of the stadium.
There are so many exciting construction milestones to look forward to in 2025! The first pieces of the precast stadium bowl will start to be set and erected in late January…truly bringing your future seating area to life. There will be 2,400 total pieces of precast stadia, and we’ll set approximately 20 pieces per day until the bowl is complete. We also expect the first steel to be set the first week of February!
