The Legends Watch as Construction Marches On

This Update Brought To You By Constellation logo

As crews at the new Nissan Stadium crossed off one of the most significant milestones to date in October, completing the installation of the ETFE membrane cushions, officially enclosing the stadium’s roof, fans also got a taste of who will take the stage under it.

The month’s event announcements include Noah Kahan, Zach Bryan and the BBCL Banana Bowl Championship Game!

The stadium isn’t ready to host them just yet, but now that the roof is enclosed, crews are taking the next steps to get it event ready. That means wrapping up a few final roof details, like removing the temporary safety netting and turning attention to installing everything that will hang above the field, including L-Acoustics loudspeakers, lightning protection and Extreme Networks WiFi access points to keep fans connected throughout the stadium.

Daktronics workers finished the upper bowl ribbon board and are currently putting the finishing touches on the upper concourse ribbon boards! The first-of-its-kind, 360-degree upper bowl ribbon board display measures 13 feet high and 2,275 feet long. If you laid it out in a straight line, it would stretch the length of six football fields!

With the roof firmly in place, finishing touches throughout the stadium continue to be a focal point. Decorative floor and wall tile, painting and wall coverings, glass handrail installation and custom woodwork all continue to make progress. Lockers have been installed in the home locker room and more than 40% of seats through the stadium are in place!

The foundation for the future playing field is complete, with the playing surface set to be installed early next year. Work is also underway on the retractable seating in the east end zone! Here’s a fun fact; those seats can actually be tucked away, similar to pull-out bleachers in a gymnasium, opening up extra space for stage setups and boosting capacity for concerts.

And something every fan will be excited to hear, cool air is already flowing through portions of the building as the HVAC system undergoes testing, getting the stadium ready to keep fans comfortable no matter the season.

Progress is also moving forward on the outside of the building! The domed, circular roof is more noticeable than ever when driving by, and three of the four tri-star installations are already in progress, with the final one set to be installed in early 2027.

On the North Plaza, crews have installed planter beds and soil to prepare for future landscaping and trees. Work has also begun on an interactive splashpad at the exterior of the southwest entry. This ground-level splash pad will sit flush with the pavement and feature jet-like water fountains, making the new Nissan Stadium a place fans will want to be, both inside and out.

Whether it’s for a football game, sold-out concert or Banana Ball game, it’s becoming clear that from the moment you step on-site, the new Nissan Stadium will be, without a doubt, Nashville’s Biggest Stage.
