January Construction Update: Progress and Excitement Everywhere!
Our awesome construction crew took a few well-deserved days off to start the new year and came back ready to crush the month of January!
Remember last month when we mentioned the work on our two massive cisterns that hold 400,000 gallons of water? Things are moving full steam ahead and we’re in the process of installing the final lid on the Southeast Cistern (our largest). These cisterns are going to be a game-changer—projecting to save us a whopping 6.3 million gallons of water per year. Once complete, they’ll provide reusable water to cover 100% of our irrigation needs, 25% of flush volume, and at least 20% of the make-up water demand for our cooling towers. Talk about sustainability goals! 🌱
In other exciting updates, we now have 360-degree connection on the Plaza Level of the stadium! For those of you entering from the west side of the building, this will be street-level for you. As construction progresses, every concourse in the new Nissan Stadium will eventually have this same 360-degree accessibility, making it easy to get anywhere—no matter where your seats are.
Concrete work has been bustling too. This month, we poured concrete for one of the team stores on the Terrace Level and several of our Edgefield Suites. And also, visiting team ownership’s suite…we promise we did a good job.
Looking ahead, things are about to get even more exciting. The actual seating bowl for the stadium is being formed and cast near Atlanta as we speak. It’s being created in nearly 2,500 pieces called “stadia,” and transport to Nashville kicks off later this month. Installation begins in early February, and we’ll also be placing our first steel beam that same month. The momentum is real, and we cannot wait to see all these pieces come together!
This month also saw the beginning of the first interior walls being installed. The walls constructed include both our masonry block walls and stud framing as well. This milestone sets the tone for continuing the buildout moving up the stadium with our mechanical, electrical and plumbing rough-in.
